Welcome to the Music Page!
This is a page dedicated to my favorite bands.
Radiohead
Radiohead does really strange, hectic alternative rock with elements of electronic. Their later
work (Kid A and up with the exception of In Rainbows) isn't stuff I really vibe with, but I can
see the appeal.
Favorite Album: OK Computer
Favorite Track: Climbing Up The Walls
Climbing Up The Walls is this really atmospheric track. It's best experienced with a decent pair
of headphones, it really hits different in proper stereo. The drop at the end of the song totally
fucks with me. Definitely give it a listen.
Red Vox
Red Vox is a great band from New York. They do strong rock with vibes of Soundgarden and Pink Floyd.
Fuck Blood Bagel, though. I don't know if I really adore Realign and later (with the exception of
Visions) but they're still strong tracks I can listen to over and over again.
Favorite Album: Another Light
Favorite Track: Ghost Page
Ghost Page conjures a distinct story in my head, that I won't tell because someday I'm going to
animate it. (Someday.) It's a calm, chilling song - until the drums kick in, and they kick in
hard. It's a really tragic song, lyrically, with an interesting theme I don't hear anyone
talking about. Of course, I also adore Memento Mori, From The Stars (shock of shocks!)
and Burn a Picture from Another Light. This is by no means an exhaustive list - Red Vox
is totally brilliant.
Boards of Canada
Boards of Canada are Scottish and they do atmospheric, vaguely nostalgic hip-hop-y tracks. Or, did.
I guess that's just their early stuff - The Campfire Headphase (and by extension, Trans Canada Highway)
are campfire songs for aliens (/pos), Geogaddi is evil (which, is not my favorite work of theirs but
still really good) and Tomorrow's Harvest is Protect and Survive's jingle personified as an
incredible album with an apocalyptic attitude. Their entire discography is massively influential to
my work, and I have to thank them for that.
Favorite Album: Music Has The Right To Children
Favorite Track: Dayvan Cowboy
Dayvan Cowboy feels so uplifting. It feels like an epic prison break, or a stunt car jumping a ramp and
sticking the landing. It's a really nice song, and I first heard it in a fan edit of Vinesauce Joel
playing BeamNG.drive. I probably wouldn't have gotten into BoC if it weren't for this genuinely
epic song.
